Skip Rohde

Skip discovered during his military career that he had an ability to write well. In particular, he could take complex issues and write them in a way that was easily understandable by the general public. When he ran cutting-edge software development projects, that gift helped him make effective presentations to very senior military leaders and build the projects from a proof-of-concept to a multi-million-dollar effort. Later, as a civilian, he used those skills in putting together statements of work and performance work statements for difficult reconstruction projects in Iraq.

Since then, he has been on the other side, helping clients understand what the contracting officers really want, and helping them put together winning proposals. Every project has been different, from a construction project in Afghanistan, to wind farms in the North Sea, to underwater surveys of offshore oil rigs, to clearing unexploded ordnance at Army bases. This variety of experiences keeps things interesting and fun.

When he’s not working on proposals, you can find him in his studio working on a new painting.
